Carbon Monixde Woes

The girls & I were hanging out at home this morning.    Later we planned to go to the club, so I could work out & then swim.   All of a sudden, I heard "WARNING: CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTED".

I called Tom, he suggested opening up all the windows.   I did & then called Fire Dept.   They confirmed the CO & said they thought it was the water heater.   The FD left postcards & pictures for the girls, so they were happy.

I then called a repair service & they said that it was a combo of our HVAC & the water heater.    Apparently Tom had removed the filter & took the filter cover off the furnace thinking it would create cooler air flow in the house.  That is "no bueno".   He created the "perfect condition" to create carbon monoxide.  The furnace was taking in air that the water heater needed to operate.     He also created a TON MORE DUST.    Weird that he never responded to my complaints that I could dust every day & it would still look like I didn't dust.   The guy told me that with no filter, the dust was just pushed back through the vents...not to mention all the "new dust" that just happens.     I was one unhappy wife with that tidbit.  The only silver lining in all of this is that we discovered that our water heater was installed in 1995 & needs to be replaced soon.   Now that we know, we can take care of it before 50 gallons of water flood our basement.

BTW...Tom is in the Dog House
