Today we all heard some loud buzzing, like a saw or a motor. It turns out that thousands of bees were swarming the corner of our house. Their nest was disturbed & they decided to set up camp here. Tom used 3 cans of spray before we realized that they found their way into our wall. We have a crab apple tree, so we thought they had a nest in it-----We were wrong, you could stand in our living room, put your ear to the wall & hear them. The girls were completely fascinated, I was terrified.
We called in a pest control guy & he said that they were honey bees. We just noticed them today, so they didn't have time to start a honeycomb. Had we called earlier, we could have had a bee keeper come, but it was too late---they were in our walls (yuck). He sprinkled his magic dust & tons of them swarmed out of the house. He will have to come back tomorrow & do another round.
This was all going on while we were waiting for the repair guy to come & fix the dryer. That decided to quit yesterday, after weeks of not really drying things. Turns out the belt was broken & Tom was able to fix it. It has been a costly day & we didn't get anything fun!
Last Friday, Sasha "graduated" Yong Fives (will try to post pics this weekend). Our baby is growing up (sniff, sniff). Today Sasha also tested for kindergarten, her third school. We still don't know where she will be going, so we have to test where we are wait-listed. We hope to have it all figured out by mid June.
Sadie finished her preschool at the end of April & she is currently enrolled in "camp" there. She loves it there. She would go every day if she could. Like her big sister, she is such a smarty. She amazes me daily with how much she knows.
We are now on Summer Break & we found a new park today. They have sand under all the play stuff. The girls rolled in it, played with it, wiggled their feet in it. They had sand all over, even in their hair...they were dirty. Their hair was gross. It was that dusty, dirty sand. The bathtub was a mini sandbox after their bath. I think it will be a while before we go back.
